*SCAPE

Yspace was excited to learn about the SCAPE development which is currently underway in Singapore. The SCAPE brand was created to in response to a lack of public space for young people. In 2010 they will open a shopping centre with a twist; only 30% of the floor space will be dedicated to retail and food outlets. The five-storey 'urban playground' will also feature a recording studio, broadcast station, art gallery, performance theatre, a space for sports and an IT lab, as well as much, much more. And it's all for young people. This is an excellent example of designing and creating inclusive spaces for young people.
